Hot Ice Exothermic Reaction

Hot ice is an exothermic reaction. It's sodium acetate. It can be made at home with baking soda and vinegar. The sodium acetate is cooled below its melting point. When it's crystalized it crystalizes in an exothermic process. This makes the ice hot. If it's made a certain way it can get hot enough to give you severe burns. Hot ice or sodium acetate is the same stuff found in hand warmers. Hand warmers are used to warm you up. Usually when it's cold oustide and/or snowing. Hot ice in a container of some sort can be used the same way.

Synthetic Diamonds

Synthetic diamonds are artificially made diamonds. They are produced artificially rather than naturally made diamonds.
They are made using high pressure high temperature and chemical vapor deposition. They were first created by the Soviet Union to detonate explosives.
They are usually used in abrasives and polishing tools. 98% of diamonds used industrialy are synthetic.
Today synthetic diamonds effect the world positively.
They can be used cheaply for jewelry. They can be used cheaply for industrial uses.
They have helped science come a long way.

Periodic tables

Past
In the past I knew about how it had metals and non metals. I also knew it was catagorized by atomic number. I even knew that hydrogen is the first element. Lastly I knew that it has 9 rows and 18 columns.

Present
I know everything I used to know. I know now that Mendeleev invented it. I also know that 90 elements occur in nature. Lastly I know that technetium was the first man made element.

Future
I want to learn more about Mendeleev. I also want to learn about how he made it. I even want to know how scientists make new elements. Lastly I want to learn more about all the individual elements.

Vision

20/20 Vison
Sharpness of objects at 20 ft

Vison Tests
An eye chart

Correction Options

Eyeglasses

What it is
Oldest form of vision correction
Practical and afordable

How it works
Bends the light coming into the eye
Uses concave and convex lenses
Concave for nearsightedness
Convex for farsightedness

Contact Lenses

What is it
Better for active people
Sit on your eye
Can wear sunglasses with them
Different brands, colors, and materials

How it works
They are directly on your eye so they can be thinner

Corrective surgery

What is it
Changes refractive (light bending) properties of the eyes
The surgery is not cosmetic it is functional
No dependence on glasses or contacts

How it works
Surgeon cuts a flap in the cornea
Opens up the flap
Uses a laser to put in a unique corrective pattern

Evolution

Evolution

Definition- The process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.

Citation: p. z. myers 2009 ooh... pretty! Web  http://glad-you-asked.blogspot.com/2009/02/ooh-pretty.html?m=1

Evolution is much more complex than "humans came from monkeys". Evolution is also not the standard picture you see of a 6 monkey-like animals in a row.
That standard picture you see is not only shortened but it's also incorrect.

Link: no link.. Wrote that myself

There are multiple things wrong with the picture above:
1.) There are only males. Humans produce sexually and that means we come in two distinct flavors that make our existence possible. Trying to show our development is like trying to eat sushi with only one chopstick.
2.) We were not even directly related to some of those guys! Cro Magnon (AKA primitive human) were actually Homo Sapien fossils confused as something else. Meaning they never existed! We also didn't evolve from Neanderthals. Modern humans and Neanderthals actually coexisted till about 40,000 years ago. We both shared a common ancestor. But, Neanderthals turned out to not be strong enough to adapt to all he changes in the world and eventually died out.

Evolution isn't a linear process! It isn't one species turning into another into another.

It's really about genetics. Organisms constantly develop new adaptations and the ones with the adaptations that make them most fit for their environment end up reproducing more and spreading those genes down to the offspring. (AKA survival of the fittest)

Evolution in action: Diseases. Bacteria. Infections. All that. Bacteria mutate which is a synonym of evolve (which evolution comes from). MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) was a once curable with a simple antibiotic. Now the bacteria has mutated and become resistant to the antibiotics previously used to treat it.

In the end, evolution more like the first picture. Though even that picture isn't near as detailed, it does describe the amazing process of how we came to be.
